Our reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

Blockchain at Berkeley is a student-run organization at UC Berkeley founded in 2014 and focused on blockchain innovation.

Blockchain at Berkeley values zkSync for its ability to enhance scalability, security, and cost efficiency in the Ethereum network. zkSync uses zk-rollup technology to bundle multiple transactions into one, reducing congestion and gas fees, while maintaining high levels of security and privacy through zero-knowledge proofs. This technology's interoperability with existing Ethereum projects fosters ecosystem growth and represents cutting-edge cryptographic innovation, aligning with the organization's focus on exploring and promoting advancements in blockchain technology.

Our view on the ZK Credo:

ZK proofs are a fascinating technology that, when applied to Blockchain in the form of a rollup, furthers the ethos and values of Ethereum and blockchain as a whole. ZKsync has taken zk proofs and innovated, creating magic. The outcome is a chain that is uniquely positioned to scale and grow the industry as a whole through innovations like validity proofs, EVM compatibility, zero data availability cost, settlement in hours not weeks, and more, while continuing to be secure, trustless, and censorship resistant.

Our skills + areas of expertise:

The major departments in Blockchain at Berkeley are as follows:

  • Consulting: Building software and performing research to support companies, protocols, and other organizations. Previous clients include Arbitrum, Algorand, LayerZero, Avalanche, PayPal, UNICEF, etc.
  • Education: Providing blockchain education through student-run courses at UC Berkeley, to over 300,000 students worldwide through our EdX course, DeCal’s (student-taught courses at UC Berkeley), and within the org through white paper reviews and developer bootcamps.
  • Xcelerator: Launched what’s now the #1 university blockchain accelerator in the US, since 2019. 100+ alumni companies, 450M+ total of follow-on funding secured.
  • Governance: Voting and building proposals for delegated protocols including Aave, Compound, Uniswap, Arbitrum, etc

We are excited to collaborate with the ZKsync DAO through any of these departments.

Disclosures/Conflicts: CalBlockchain also holds delegations on Compound, Aave, Arbitrum, Uniswap, Starknet, and Optimism.
